Please Help Redeem This Ugly Bauble

Good afternoon

I've bought several of these 'interesting' baubles in the sales and would like to reuse the bauble itself which is made of glass. The character in the middle has been glued down and I would like to remove it

I've so far tried acetone - in case the glue was epoxy based and Sticky Stuff Remover (the orange smelling stuff that contains aliphatic hydrocarbons).

The above were long shots as I think the glue used is cement based / rubber cement based. I've googled the removal of this and it seems to indicate that I would need a hexane based product but the only thing that fits the bill is something called Bestine that is a US product

Does anyone have any suggestions for solvent based (or other products) that would allow me to remove the character from the inside that is readily available in the UK.

I cannot be certain as to the origin / solvent base of the glue. Happy to try almost anything - the bauble itself is glass so it should be fairly robust.

Thanks in advance

Debbie

I'm glad that you think that a glass bauble is robust. Definitely not so in my experience. They will normally break as soon as you look at them.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I've been lucky with this one. Have now tried petrol based lighter fluid and have a friend trying industrial strength UPVC cleaner / solvent.

Next on my list is 36.2% hydrochloric acid as this is used by builders to remove cement splashes from glass.

I want to make this sort of thing with them:

Would very happily make one for the person that comes up with something that works
