Soil in my veg patch..
Maybe some of you will remember, but in Spring I was very happy with the thought that I had last year's chicken patch free for planting veg in. Had visions of prize winning veg lol -but nothing at all grew. Nothing, not even the weeds. Somebody said maybe too high nitrogen in the soil. Will that have sorted itself now and can I go ahead this (ok well next) year?

Could very well have be too much nitrogen from years of chicken poo
Good news is nitrogen is easily washed out of the soil, and with the rain we have had lately, and expected over winter, with maybe a spot of frost & snow, all should be well next yearWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
That's brilliant, thanks

Have you broken the soil up and left it in clumps to let the frost get at it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Yes we dug it over well a couple of times before the bad weather hit.
