Do other wireless devices connect OK?
What security is on the Wifi?
Try it initially without any security then assuming that connects, tighten it up a bit and see if you can still connect.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Try connecting your phone or Laptop to the wireless.

This is a setting in your router. If it was pre-set up, I assume WPA.
Here's what you can try to resolve this... Restart your router, then try again. If not, restart your tablet also.0 -
If the tablet is your only wireless device and the Wifi hasn't been used before, then you need to get into the router configuration, not the tablet.
You presumably have a computer connected by cable to the router? Through that you need to get into the router configuration, which is usually done through a browser, and may require a password. There could be details written on the router including an address like 192.168.0.1, which you enter into the browser address line.
You may even find a default Wireless password written on the router, which is all your tablet would need.
If you can post the router model, somebody may have more specific advise for you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. My tablet won't connect to my wi-fi if the router is set above channel 10 for some reason. You could try changing your router channel in its settings, if you know how to access them?0

Change the security on the router to WPA, set a network key, and make usre the access point is set to on. Then when you try to connect the tablet should ask you for the access key, and connect once you have typed it in.Still rolling rolling rolling......
