I was thinking of puttiing an extension on a bungalow 15 feet by 17 tiled roof. I have no idea how much it would cost,Can anyone help? Also if I did the footings myself would that save much money?

I've just been looking into this and you can use a rough figure of £1000 per square metre (that's 10 square feet if you're old or old skool).
If you're staying in the property for a long time it would be better to get a pitch roof as oppossed to a flat roof as these last longer and are a better quality.

Thanks pinheadplanet for your reply.Do you think that £26000 would cover it then? With a pitch roof.0

it might, it might not.
you need to see if you can get a builder to do it for the price you want. if people here say you can get it done for £26k, but then every builder says £35k, what will you do?
You can either draw a rough plan yourself and ask builders for a price or get a full plan drawn up (£200-£400) and then ask them.
Doing your own footings probably won't save that much, and how will you know how far down they need to go, this is one of the things that the building regs at the council will want to see to check they are appropriate. My extension needed piles, after the builder got 6` down without getting solid ground, cost and extra £5k. A neighbour ended up with footings going about 7` deep, which cost a lot in concrete.0 -
We are looking to get a single storey extension added as we want a home cinema and we were quoted a ball park of £1000 per square metre.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0
