Beko XL 9 washing machine not spinnng

Hi, I'm looking for some advice please on my washing machine.
It was and has always worked fine with no problems up until xmas eve. After the 3rd load of the day I loaded the 4th load into it but it just won't spin.
The machine fills up with water and takes the soap powder and starts the cycle but the minute the drum needs to start turning it just freezes then clicks over to end.
I've had a look at the motor and it all seems fine, have checked to see if it's clogged up etc.
Does anyone with any experience of washing machines know if this can be fixed, or is it best to bite the bullet and buy a new one?

We used to have a Hotpoint and when we had a similar problems it was the motor or the brushes. Assuming the belt is in tact?0

Quite likely the brushes - does it turn with nothing in the drum? Try it on a spin cycle with nothing in the drum at all. Chances are it'll turn or twitch as if it's trying to turn.
Failing that, it could be the bearings. Does the drum rotate freely hand? Does it feel smooth or rough when turning?0 -
Thank you for replying. Have had a look at the brushes and they don't look too worn down at all. It's frustrating as the washing machine is only 14 months old but out of the 1 year warranty and we didn't take any extra cover.
I've had the back off and the belt looks ok as does the control panel unit. I've tried the reset methods I found online but still no luck.
The drum turns freely by hand and it's not making any weird noises such as grinding and it feels smooth but it just won't turn whilst in a cycle or on a spin.
I've just had to resort to buying another one online. Can't go too long without a washing machine especially with the kids lol0 -
I had a similar issue with a tumble dryer that would not spin. I fixed that by replacing the capacitor. I'm guessing a washing machine also needs one to start it spinning.
