Cousin's payday is Friday. Many if his colleagues got paid today as mentioned on Facebook. He and those colleagues that have their pay go into a Santander account have not.
Why is this? He maybe concerned if on Friday he does not receive his pay then.
Has anyone experienced or heard of similar before?

huh?? is friday a public holiday? i thought the day after boxing day is a normal day...
Weird they received money on christmas day. Maybe it was a easing measure done to boost peoples balances on Christmas.0 -

In banking terms, Friday started as soon as they'd done the overnight processing at the end of Xmas Eve...just like next Monday will start as soon as they've done the overnight processing on Friday night.
Perfectly normal (at some, although not all, banks)!0 -

Read my sentence again.....
Some banks show the next working day transactions (i.e. Friday transactions) on non-working days (i.e. Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Monday has finished, the next working day is Friday. The non-working days between them show the upcoming Friday transactions.
It would be the same for Monday transactions on a Saturday and Sunday.0 -

Some banks put Monday's transactions through on Saturday morning, although with Monday's date. Other banks (like Santander) put Monday's transactions through on Sunday night / Monday morning.
Same thing applies over the Christmas holidays. The early updating banks have done so already, the late updating banks haven't updated yet and will be doing so later tonight/early tomorrow.
All transactions will be dated Friday 27th.0 -
Any time now, we'll get complaints from people whose DDs for 27th have already been taken.0
