Late payment of Virgin Holiday - what happens?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows the process if I pay for a Virgin Holiday late?

I want to pay in a Debenhams store to get 2% cashback (which covers the 1.3% charge for using a credit card). However, I have been in 4 times in the past week and knowone was there (3 times to Reading store and once on the due date to the place we booked and were told to go to pay, Oxford store).

So we have missed the payment date (yesterday) and I won't be paying until I can do so in a store... unless of course someone has experience of Virgin and know they will cancel my holiday quite quickly (then I will suck it up and pay online/phone).

We're paying over 8k for the holiday so the cashback is considerable and worth being inconvenienced for.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help

Do you have a virgin brochure with the terms and conditions in, if so look when it goes into cancelation, as generally travel agents collect the balance well in advance ie Thomas cook shops balance is due 14 weeks before departure but the balances aren't due to the tour op 10 weeks before departure so they have leeway. I'm sure there will be some leeway due to the Christmas holidays.

Is it really worth risking it ? I don't think so.
  • I would agree but in the brochure it says 1.3% charge, online its charging me 1.5%, so I want to query this in store where they can change it manually.

It says they reserve the right to cancel the holiday. So I have paid. However I have also sent an email to all and sundry pointing out their error, they even have 1.3% on their out of office :rotfl:

I really shouldn't have left it so late but they said they'd be instore on Christmas Eve and I believed them
