Can I return an opened iPod touch?

Hi all. I bought an iPod touch 5th generation from Currys for my daughter for Christmas. It wasn't until today when she opened it that we realised that it didn't have a forward facing camera. TBH I didn't even know Apple made iPod touch's (especially 5th gen) without a forward facing camera. I even told the salesperson one of the things she wanted it for was to take photos. She's really disappointed as wanted to be able to take photos (not just selfies). So, we packaged it back up ready to return & hopefully exchange for the higher spec iPod. After reading Curry's Returns Policy I realised they don't accept goods that have been opened. Does anybody have any advice in this situation? We would never have known it didn't have a camera without opening the packaging. Thanks in advance.

How did you buy it? In store or via mail order?

Assuming it was in store then you have no rights to return a product simply because you've changed your mind and so would be down to their in store policy/ their mercy

If it was online or over the phone then you have 7 working days to cancel the order after receipt of the goods and this can be simply because you changed your mind.

I assume however you mean rear facing camera - all capacity iPod Touch have a Facetime front facing camera but only the 32gb and above have the rear facing iSight camera

hi, yes you can take photos of yourself, but there is no outer camera.

Yes, that's what I meant! We should have researched it more thoroughly.
We bought it in store, so as you say we don't have any rights. We're going to try & return it tomorrow, but I don't hold out much hope.

If you were told it would, & it doesn't, then it's worth asking for a refund.

Be calm, reasonable, friendly - the returns staff will be seeing a lot of frazzled folk so if you can make it as calm & simple as possible, they'll be charmed!

Theirs does take pictures.

Does your daughters have a forward facing camera?

You mean you wanted a rear-facing camera? It has a front-facing one already!
