New year new me

Not a great start to the new year last night. We had a lovely day seeing friends and OH not buying his Christmas present to himself as the sales assistant was clueless and unhelpful.
Then last night I had the worst nights sleep in ages
eventually just sat and watched tv until I dozed off (not the most comfortable way to snooze!). It was meant to be a productive day getting planning done for next week but I can't see me getting as much done as I planned. Ah well. I should get ready to go. I've got an hour before the bus! *2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Yippee!! I have a lovely new coat from our trip out courtesy of my lovely OH as my Christmas present. We had a fab walk up by Malham Tarn though it was a bit wild out. I'm now back to being exhausted again...I hope this doesn't continue into the new term as all I want to do is sleep at the moment! I've also had the lovely surprise of being paid the holiday data I had accrued when I worked for a supply agency at the beginning of the term. So despite being so tired it's been a good day. I just need to find ways to combat my tiredness now.*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Back at school now so work has taken over. Had a very busy weekend teaching my mum to use the wii fit and planning for this week. Now I'm back at work and getting into a routine so am challenging myself to improve my sleep patterns...which will hopefully in turn improve my energy levels and willingness to exercise (I did spend an hour on the wii last night) must remember to cancel gym membership next time I'm home as it's money I don't need to spend!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

What an exciting day it's been, despite feeling rubbish when I woke up. I'm in a handbell ringing team and someone who used to be linked to the team has written a book about the art and is trying to promote the style of ringing we do. As a result of that he's been in touch with our local news channel and a cameraman and one if the local news anchors came to do a piece this evening at our rehearsal! Unfortunately this practice means I've not had a very MSE day as I have to eat on the move on a Thursday night as there's no time to go home before practice but still it's been quite exciting! Now it's time for bed with a lemsip and hot water bottle!!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Am really proud of myself this week as I've managed 3 NSDs in a row. It doesn't happen very often, and the only reason I've not had 4 is because today was a treat day meeting friends for tea and cake and a good old catch up. We went to a lovely garden centre and they had a sale on so I didn't buy anything full price. Except the tea and cake for me and the friend who drove me there! It was a great day though. I also bought some new flowers on the way home for my room as I'm determined to have something cheery in here to keep me smiling.
It's been a busy week, though next week will be busier so a relaxing day tomorrow which should result in no spends. Back on the wii tomorrow as well. Think I'm just about over this blooming cough/cold that's nearly floored me for the past fortnight!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

OH was meant to be going to S'burys on he way to meet me at the rain station today. He was running late so I had to go with him. As a result it wasn't a NSD as planned, but I did need another bottle of squash to take into work. And they had some lovely digital scales for only 13.50 which was 75% off! I did need some new ones and thought that so they were such a good offer it was worth having really decent ones. So now I'm planning a baking session At the weekend to make good use of them. Now need my own place so they won't get tidied away as soon as I've walked out of the kitchen!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Well I've kept up with this well haven't I! Thought I'd pop in with a January round-up and keep track of myself. I've done well at tracking my spending and managed 13 NSDs this month. This has partly been possible because I've taken lunch to work all 20 days that I've been there so I'm very impressed with myself! I've also managed to put aside £1 for 30 days and saved up £9.80 in 20p pieces I've acquired. I've budgeted for each week and any money left over is in a sealed tin to be opened in November!
I've read 3 books (would have been more but LOTR is very tough to stick at!) and I've watched 12 DVDs I hadn't already watched. I've been pretty exhausted after work and spent half the month feeling run down from. Cold/cough/general blah-ness so my getting fit hasn't really happened at all!
I have a couple of plans for how to be even more money conscious next month, so hoping I can keep up the good work of January and working on getting fit in February!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

It appears I've been AWOL from my diary for nearly a month! I hadn't realised it was so long! I have been lurking around the forums but haven't popped in here due to general madness at work and home! Things are moving quickly and home may not be home for much longer as OH and I have started to look around at houses!! We've been toying with the conversation about it for a while but now feels like it could be the right time to do it. Problem is...I understand very little about buying a house!! OH fortunately understands a lot more, but it certainly gives me brain ache trying to make sense of it all! We've seen a couple of places we REALLY like so now comes the task of finding out if we can actually afford it! I'm making various cutbacks and my monthly outgoings are fairly minimal having cancelled gym membership and love film in the last week, plus I'm trying to spend as little as possible through the week. I just need to keep that up, and put some of the money into savings for the necessary items when we get somewhere! It's crazy to think that in the next year I might not be living at home if things go to plan! If they don't, we'll have to start looking again as I'm sure these houses we like will disappear quickly! We were just talking about it on the phone then his mum rang so he's ringing me back in a bit! I've rambled on enough. I should go and try and suss out what some of our monthly outgoings could be!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*
