New year new me

Merry Christmas everyone.
I know it isn't new year yet but I might as well start as I mean to go on. I didn't do brilliantly with money saving this year but I did start on a good foot. Hoping to keep that going all year in 2014. I currently have a good job which I love and hope will continue longer than the summer (when my current contract ends) I'm going to start Christmas/birthday shopping in the sales hopefully and try to be more money conscious throughout the next year. I'm aiming for 10 spend free days a month initially and will be more money and health conscious as the year progresses with any luck!
I'm aiming to learn to drive and to move out of my parents' in the next 12 months and praying that at least one will happen!! As well as increasing what I have in my savings account through what I save on a weekly basis!
I can't promise to check in daily but will aim to do so a couple of time a week!! As well as money saving I'm hoping to make savings by making homemade prezzies and learning to knit reasonably well next year so gifts can have an even more personal touch!
Won't be the best end to the year as hitting the sales tomorrow but I'll try to check in!

A trip to the sales today and I only bought 2 craft magazines and a drink. Quite impressed with myself. Though we're going to do more sales shopping tomorrow on the way home for Christmas with my parents. We've had 3 days of good food and out for a big meal tomorrow. Don't think I'll know what's hit me come next Wednesday!
I've been snoozing this afternoon so I hope I can still sleep tonight as I haven't really slept the last 2 nights. My job for this evening is to create a spreadsheet for Christmas and birthday presents I think while we're watching Boxing Day tv!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

That was a successful trip to the sales! I was looking for a couple of things and didn't get any of them. Instead I got a sock reindeer kit for half price and a new diary. I'm going to spend a bit of this afternoon looking at my family tree and seeing if I can make a bit more sense of it. I'm hoping that one of the things I can achieve next year is to make it more organised with the information I have!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

I've been feeling a bit blue the last couple of days. I don't know if it's the time of year or just the need for something more exciting. I'm trying to get myself busy and organised for the new year, but am currently struggling to motivate myself.
I spent last night at my OH's which was lovely just to relax and watch TV and we talked about some ways in which we can both save money without too much effort next year. And today I've counted and bagged up all my shrapnel (and 20ps) ready to take to the bank.
I've also been to my brother's to help my future sister-in-law design some wedding invitations and try on my bridesmaid's dress and I'm going to end my day by curling up with a book for half an hour. I'm hoping I'll doze off easily as the past few nights I've struggled to nod off and I don't want that to become a habit!!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*

Back at OHs again tonight before celebrating new year with family friends tomorrow. We struggle to plan meals and things for the week normally as we don't always know when we'll get to see each other during term time so it's been nice to be able to plan it this week! Also managed to save a bit on the shop looking at various deals (still could make it lower though I'm sure) I didn't have much energy for it though really as had a thumping headache. Soon cured that by falling asleep in a sleeping bag on the sofa when I got here...now it's nearly bedtime and I'm wide awake!
My challenge this week is to drink more water (and consequently less tea!) it's cheaper and healthier!*2014 £365/365days - £52/£365* *20p Savers club #17 £12.00/£50*
