I'm sorry but with all the precautions in place after the sofa issue a few years back I would be very surprised if DFS had a problem with their sofas. But please feel free to give us an update as you go along. I would be interested.

Seriously I don't believe for one second that all this was from a new sofa. You sure must have one heck of a vivid imagination!

If it was just one person perhaps a rare allergic reaction but an entire family, not a chance!!

More of your usual pointless trolling. Get a life.

Above sites may be of interest to you OP. Remember seeing something similar a few years back on watchdog.

    Evidently not ;)
  • We have had the same happen to us with a John Lewis leather sofa..and yes the entire family including the cat, this is not an uncommon problem

It is not a rare allergic reaction! it happens more often than you think, we have had exactly the same with a John Lewis sofa and my imagination is not particularly vivid..just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist!

Well it must be fairly uncommon else the industry and its regulators would do something.

It's not that uncommon -- a while back it was a recurring theme on Watchdog, I'm sure Dom Littlewood took on one case in his Don't Get Done Get Dom.

People with all sorts of respiratory complaints, skin complaints. Chemicals being used to preserve the stuffing were causing it, the chemicals were banned from use, yet were being used anyway.

The industry *do* do something. They say it's not the standard they expect, they blame the foreign suppliers etc. but only once the media get teeth into it. Up until then, it's quietly swept aside in the hope you go away. :)
