Just rang payplan and they are going to ring me back tomorrow (26th) at 9am to take down all my details and discuss my options.
Just one thing I am a little confused about, do they have a set allowance as when I was telling them my monthly outgoings, I was getting quoted figures some of which were a little less than I was saying e.g. my rent was £217 but she said something about £180.
Little confused as that will leave me short and if all the allowances are simi to that I will be in more debt.
    Very confused

No, your allowances are what you pay, 217 is perfectly reasonable for rent, she might have thought you were talking weekly. Make sure you put an allowance in to cover everything, even birthdays and christmas. The point is to give you a comfortable repayment plan that you won't need to default on.

I thought that I was wrong in what I was thinking, the other thing is that I mentioned things like birthdays, lottery money etc and she said that it was luxury's.
I think I'd just better wait and see tomorrow as I'm getting all messed up again and hopefully by tomorrow my head will be straight and I can understand what they are saying.

    Thanks again

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Lottery money is luxury! Birthdays/Christmas (provided you don't go mad!) are acceptable expenses I would personally say! You want to be debt-free - you still need to live!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

    Hi :hello:

Just something that I thought about when I was reading your SOA.

Your credit card amounts are more than the limits that you have on them. Have you checked if they have slapped any charges on the account in the last 6 years cos you could claim this back and then be back into the normal limit of the card.

    Just a thought though

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks again for all your suggestions and help, I have made out my Final SOA for when PayPlan calls tomorrow.

    Couple of questions to ask:

How long does it roughly take from start to finish for something to be suggested to me, DMP/IVA....days wks or months?

And how long does it roughly take for it all to start working so to speak?

On reading payplans FAQs, they suggest opening another bank account, is it worth me doing this now ?

    Thanks again

    Hi Everyone,
I've come off the phone from payplan, I've agreed to an IVA which will last 5yrs and my credit file will be wiped clean 1 yr later.
I've had to open a new bank account which when is in place will be my income account and payplan/h.p. etc will be took out of there.
This was the best option for my situation I think and even though I've got a spot of paperwork to do still with my creditors, once my IVA is up and running everything will look ok on the horizon as they say.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me along this journey and at last I can have a good nights sleep.

    :T:T:T
    Thanks Again

Yeh, I am so relieved about it, I've pestered the life out of Toto with P.M.s and I can't thank her enough.
Likewise I can't thank everyone enough who has advised me so thank you all.
Fingers crossed that I get the 75% vote that I need for the IVA and off we go
    Roll on 9pm Zzzzzzzzzz
