    Thank you so much,
I am so worried about all this now that I'm losing weight just thinking about it, I will give them a call on Tuesday as my house is empty for a couple of hrs then.
I just don't want my Mum and Dad to even get a sniff of my problems as they are far too old to have this thrown upon them.
How do they go about it ? Is it all done over the phone or do they send something for you to fill in?

    Thanks again so much

I called payplan and they did an initial interview over the phone, they then made an appointment to call me back. They are very used to people not wanting their partners or families to know, so are descreet. They sent me all information I needed via email, a SOA form to fill in and other bits and bobs. They made sure that I could talk freely before entering into any discussion and are more than happy to call you on your mobile so you can go somewhere to talk. I can't praise them enough as I have said they really are on your side.

    Hi Endsmeet,

As well as the advice above, I wonder if you have anything to sell. If the money you owe was spent on things, then perhaps you could make some money selling them at a car boot sale, ebay, through the free ads in the local paper, etc. Any money you make could be used to reduce your debt.

Also, since your overtime isn't regular, why not look for a second job in the evenings or at weekends.

Best of luck - I'm sure you can work it out, especially if you get some help from CCCS or Payplan.

Hi. If CCCS/Paypal/CAB have a waiting list try your local Council to see if they have any debt advice people, or check to see if there are any local charities that give advice.

    Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much for your help, I have been selling things on Ebay and have come to a point where there is nothing left of value to sell.
I will ring payplan on Tuesday and post back what they say.
Again, thanks for all the advice

Good luck with this, Endsmeet. Payplan, CCCS or CAB really are good sources of advice to start with. When you talk to them, you might need to hand all your financial dealings. Although I'm not going down the CCCS/CAB/Payplan route, one thing I found really useful was the budget planner, and looking at things like insurance to see if I'm paying too much. Keep us posted with what they say.

    Hi hun

    Welcome to DFW !!!

One thing I notice from your SOA is that you have an Egg ISA - how much is in this and could you use it to pay any of the debts off - even if it just gives you a bit of leeway to deal with the other debts ???

    Hi Tashja,
My Egg ISA has virtually nothing in it (£40), it was one of those moments a few months ago when I felt as if I was doing something 'right' for a change.

Just had a doze and I feel yuk again but roll on Tuesday

    Thanks again

Sorry to bother you all again, I'm feeling very yuk again and have 100's of questions going thru my head.
Will I ever be free of all this?
Is there actually any light at the end of the tunnel or am I just kidding myself?
I hate lying to my parents but telling them anything would just destroy them.
How will I ever get a mortgage with this on my record?
How long will it be before I can even think of getting a house and will it be too late due to my age?
    Will I keep my car?
What plus points do I have left to smile about ?
All of these questions are going around in my head all of the time, I've just tried watching something on telly and every 15mins there's some stupid advert about debt...god I hate those adverts

Sorry to be on such a downer, just ignore me

There is nothing you can do today about your debts except not spend money. When you have spoken to CCCS or Cab or whoever re your debt management plan (DMP) you will feel better I promise. There IS light at the end of the tunnel, you just need to be focused and thats where this forum can help. Just read a few of the stories and look at their debt signatures (at the bottom of their postings). You will see lots of people making inroads into their debt. Re being "too old" for a mortgage, I don't know how old you are but assuming you want a 25 year mortgage then you should be OK till you are 40 (as you will have hopefully 25 years of working life to pay it off). Chin up, post a smile on your face and when you feel on a downer just log back in.
