We are having a 'free' Christmas!
One of our clients who has a butcher's shop gave us our meat (and some to spare). Another client sent us a case of wine. Some friends gave us a lovely home-made and decorated Christmas cake.
My husband found a Christmas tree that we did not know we had got in our 'glory hole' (it turned out to belong to our son and his girlfriend who lived in our house when we lived in Spain but they did not take it when they moved and have since bought another). He also found hundreds of baubles still in boxes which no-one knows where they have come from but think might have belonged to the lodger (who has now moved on).
So thank you so much friends, family and clients, we will enjoy our free Christmas!
Have a good one everybody

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

when I read the title of your thread, I thought "Bloody Hell, somebody's locked Christmas up. We all need to get T-shirts made in support".

How lovely S-D-W. Things are so much better when they're free. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Actually I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas however they celebrate (or not):A
