My Hermes - Haven't collected parcel 4 days in a row

Anyone else had this problem with My Hermes?
Order placed last Wednesday, parcel to be collected Thursday. Not collected. Contacted CS Friday morning - promised it would be collected. Not collected. Contacted CS Friday evening - promised it would be collected on Saturday. Not collected.
Contacted CS yet again on Monday - told there was a 'technical fault' - would be collected Monday.
Still not collected.
You can contact them via web chat (but are long waits, and I got bumped off when I got to number one in the wait list) email - but it takes at least 24 hours to get a response or phone, but it costs 10p a minute.
I do wonder if the problem is that I live in a rural area (although hardly the back of beyond - about 7 miles from the nearest town) and the courier just doesn't want to collect. In which case why take the business?

It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I dont know Hermes business model but with many delivery companies the end point drivers are self employed so Hermes takes the job because its a nice earner for them but the guy who's paid 30p per collection (or whatever the going rate is these days) doesnt want to travel 7 miles for 30p which he may only get a proportion of if he goes and your not in so its a failed collection - though his contract wont allow him to pick and choose which ones he does and doesnt do.
Personally I hate couriers, we live in a small town and on a gated development with all but one house working 9-5 so no one to even open the gates for the delivery companies most the time. If I'm sending anything I drop it off either at the depot myself or use a couriers which has drop points as a few of the late night shops offer this here.0
