Happy birthday!
We are having roast beef with all the trimmings - I want to line the DSs stomachs before they go on their traditional Christmas Eve night out! And it's my preferred festive fare, and tomorrow......
Tomorrow will be the traditional crispy duck pancakes.......:D
Quick and easy - tradition in our house for the last twenty-odd years.[0 -

We don't have any particular tradition, but we're having pasta in cheese sauce, because I'm not feeling terribly well and it's a meal I can throw together pretty much on autopilot, iyswim. Mr LW is at work today, but thinks they may get to finish early - he'll call and let me know if this is the case.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Just having a bit of buffet food and plenty of sherry... just as a practice for Boxing Day, you understand0

Yellow stickered steak pies, baked potatoes and frozen peas - it was going to be pizzas from the freezer, but these were a great deal, and it means there's a tea left in the freezer for one of those days in January when I struggle home from work and am too tired almost to be bothered to even think about food...
So, it's lazyitis tea tonight and a lazyitis tea saved up in the freezer for January! We'll eat well tomorrow and through the rest of the holiday, so this feels like a good idea tonight.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
We usually have an Indian takeaway but we had one earlier this week, and we are booked into the local Indian early on NYE before we go off to family party.
So, it is homemade haddock and cheese fishcakes with home made chips, followed by Profiteroles.0 -
Usually its a baked ham here, as part of a sit down meal including fish, but this year finding ethically reared pork at a decent price was difficult and its just DH and I, so we aren't doing it. We might reconsider and have it for new year (which is also baked ham! And other foods....that's usually our buffet night.0
