Decent earphones for gaming:

Hey, firstly, I am aware of a thread a few down from this concerning gaming headsets, that is not what I am looking for.

I have been reading a few reviews of earbud style earphones that I can plug into the controller of a Dualshock 4 (PS4 controller). Right now, microphone support isn't really needed, I'm more of a single-player gamer for the most part.

My question really is this;

Are earphones that are well rated for playing music likely to be good for in-game sound quality, or do a different set of requirements exist for gaming?

I personally see the Sennheiser CX300 II as a contender, does anyone have experience of these, or have any good suggestions of earphones for around £50 or under mark?
