Rose, I love candles, plug ins and those sticks that you pop into scented stuff (you know what I mean!). I buy them all the time to match the Seasons - like mulled wine and gingerbread near Christmas, fresh linen and floral during the Spring and Summer, woody scents for the autumn.... I have loads of Yankee candles! Love them - so soothing to watch and I love those Airwick candles that change colour too!

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Hi all, just had a lovely bunch of flowers delivered from my DS. He very rarely remembers so it was a lovely surprise.

Been to Brewster Bears with the GKD's, they are getting a bit big for it now but they seem to have enjoyed themselves. Very noisy though so glad to come out.

Went to Brantano to have a look at the sandals for my hols and they had 30% off all ladies so got a pair of Clarks. When I got home and showed my DH the receipt he pointed out that they had only given me 25% so will be going back tomorrow to get it sorted. DH said that it isnt worth the petrol but I disagree its the principal that counts. Am I making a fuss for nothing I ask myself. I always think that if they have done it to me they could have done it to others too.

Hope you have all had a lovely day. I see there are even more clickies added today.
BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS

Thank FF - I do love candles and buy loads!

Sylvia, you sound like you have had a fun day - what could be more perfect than pretty flowers from your son followed by some retail therapy! I would be the same as you though and would go back for a refund AND I would also mention that it has cost you the extra petrol money too and you never know, they may take off an extra 5%! So ask to speak to someone high up!!! Oh and tell you DH to 'zip it' as women know best! Hee hee hee!

Ahhh my parents looked after my children whilst I was at the hairdressers this morning and my mum helped my two girls to bake me a lovely ginger cake to bring home with them - so I have just had a slice with some custard! Yum yum!

Well I have my bottle of rose chilling ready for 7pm when wor Ant 'n' Dec come on tv then candles on, curtains drawn, slippers flipped off in the air and Ahhhhh CHILL!

Well have finally sat down to do a few comps. Did do all the Times ones though. The afternoon turned out nice so got all the washing up to date and ironed. Got some food organised to leave for kids too although haven't finished packing but not much to do as stuff still in from last week. DD working tonight so will need to get her school trousers in the wash when she finishes in case she needs them.

Really enjoyed watching the "Great Canal Boat Journeys" tonight as it was about the Llangollan Canal which we want to visit. Have seen it many years ago but as the kids were young never walked any of it.

Flowers sound lovely Sylvia - enjoy! Hope you get your sandal discount sorted out.

Hope everyone is enjoying their night.

Glad you had a sunny afternoon Sheils! After the fog and mist here this morning, the sun eventually showed her rays this afternoon!

Have you ever considered a canal boating holiday Sheils? We went on several as a family when I was little and they were great fun (though my dad had a boat of his own at the time so knew how to drive/steer boats!) We holidayed on the Norfolk Broads one year then the Suffolk Broads the next year and we also hired a boat and went up the Caledonian Canal and onto Loch Ness EEK! and also around the western Isles! Fabulous fun !!! lochness_monster_hold.gif?__sid=0NWWM&lang=en LOL When we moored on Loch Ness overnight I remember me and my older brother sitting up nearly all night peeping from behind the curtains to see if we could spy Nessie - we didn't see him as such but we were sure we saw ripples where he might have been hiding!

Ha ha love the Nessie Pic Bella. It has crossed our minds about hiring a canal boat but pretty expensive for 2. Must admit I like a nice hotel and although I'm sure DH would steer it fine ( he had a double decker bus license never mind a car one ) I'm not sure about me working locks! DHs brother bought a boat but only kept it a year as the novelty wore off. Think we will stick to walking the canals.
