They do, all animals do it

and if you got a flamingo then all you neeed to do is put up some mirrors - they then think they are in a flock

it's why if you ever see them in a zoo/safari park there are always mirrors near the water

speaking of small birds in bonnets - i adopted a sparrow when i was about 12, found it when it fell out a tree and somehow nursed it to health. When it eventually flew off, it hung about the house and if i went out in a t-shirt it would come and land on my arm and get stroked
