Not taken with RS, they treat their customers like idiots.
I went for a cheap blu ray player some years back the LG BD300 something...
Was told by staff, don't buy this one as it's the old model. Buy the next one up for £20 more (ok I thought). But we've only got the multi-region one which is £10 more (same thing with code). And that's with no warranty, the one with a warranty is an extra £20.
So I'm facing £50 more. Said no politely, I wanted the original one I went for. Was rudely given the cold shoulder and "it'll be a few minutes while we dig that one out". Promptly walked out, bought elsewhere a week later and cheaper too.
Richer Sounds in Preston in case anyone was wondering. Never again.
Like others said, I use them to get others to price match

I'm a bit peed off with RS too - they offer some good deals, but they don't have half of them in stock, and are unable to say when they will have them in stock. Take for example that LG TV a couple of posts above - I bet you can't find one in your local store! I tried Stockport, Manchester and Preston, and all of them were unable to help in anyway and said they might get some in, but probably not.
I eventually went for the panasonic plasma from Asda, which was still £10 cheaper than the same model in the RS sale.
That said, I did get an apple TV from RS for £84 which is a great price (I fully expected them to tell me it wasn't in stock).0 -
Not sure you can knock a retailer for selling? There were 5 where we reserved one. Currys sold 200 on Boxing Day alone where we were and had nothing from their sale left at all. Majority of the offers are on obsolete TVs so once they're gone then they can't/won't make anymore and the next model will come out.0

I'm sure, like nearly all retailers, there may be the odd time that service is below par, but I have always, in the many years I have been dealing with Richer Sounds, had nothing but excellent, friendly service.0
