Just an update. The NIE man is coming tomorrow to fit this monitor. He has been fixing broken poles and lines with all the winds.

Strangely we have not noticed any issues over the last number of days. Hopefully the fault will be recorded with the voltage monitor over the next week or so.
    Regards, Robin.

The NIE engineer came and fitted the monitor on NYE (Tuesday). Said he will leave it for 7 - 10 days to record and then arrange collection.

Did mention to him that we had not noticed any issues so far over the christmas break but he seemed happy enough to install it anyway.
    Regards, Robin.

Just to update - the man is coming today to collect the meter that has been installed since 31st December to present.

If anyone is wondering what it looks like, its an Electrorecoder EC-2VA.

Oops. My bad for not updating!

So the 2nd line support guy came out and looked at the readings for the voltage logger. All looked fine as he explained that NIE were contracted to supply between X volts and Y volts. My readings all fell within this range over the 10 days or so of monitoring. There were a large number of current spikes (~ 40 to 80A) that I think is causing the flicking. I can only assume that since these occurred at times during the day and night that this is the pump at the outlet of our septic tank (which is 400W) kicking in at start up.

So to conclude I have not got 100% to the bottom of this but it certainly looks like a pump is causing the issue at startup due to the large in rush current.
    Regards, Robin.
