Water ingress above window

Any body able to tell me why/how and what to do?
In this extreme weather water is coming in from what appears to be a newly formed crack in the 'lintel area' above a window.
For now have dried up and put a towel under to absorb any more water (too long a crack for buckets, so frequently changed towels seems best)

I have the same thing, happened last week late at night. When I had a look the next morning saw a tiny gap above the window on the outside. I filled it with silicone and thought it would be OK. But today, the rain is again coming in, not as much, and only in one place.0

Its a 1960s window new
Y put in then on a rebuild of that wall, not an old one.
The wind and rain was driving in to that wall.
Its a ...think word is. Gable end? So no guttering above...lone opening in otherwise blank wall.
Thanks leveller.0 -
TBH trouble with water ingress it may be getting ito a crack, sealant etc feet away from where you see the results inside. Things to look for are places where the sealant has pulled away from the brickwork or the head of the frame. Is there a 1st floor window above this one? if so it may be blowing in under the sill of the above window and dripping down the back of the face brickwork...Check all the pointing on the brickwork is good, any weep holes above the window?
So many possibilities..sorry I'm not helping much.Least we can say its not blowing through the frame, which can happen.0 -
Its the only opening on the wall, so not another window above. ( there is evidence of a historic opening above, where on that wall I cannot remember....worth finding out, thanks)0
