CPU upgrade

My understanding from what I'm seeing is that Broadwell WILL require a new motherboard although it may use the 1150 socket layout as there are going to be incompatibilities resulting in a new socket chipset (9 series) being needed.
You're right, I've updated my post. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying a Haswell system on the assumption it will definitely work with Broadwell.

your CPU is still pretty up there on spec, i cant see a GPU upgrade causing any problems for you.

i5 chipi7 960
660ti GTX
12 gb ram

I'm changing it because I want a better CPU and a socket that isnt discontinued for upgradable options.
16 gig predator ram
Vertex 3 SDD
2 x high end Radeon Graphics cards
have the same sickness though very thifty in other things
...... my trouble is I was too tight to buy an i7 at the time, everything else is top end
have searched the world over for sites that exchange your I5 for an I7 and you only pay the difference. Tell me if you're selling the I7, maybe we can make a deal....0 -
but they will change it, they're intel, they always change it..... some of the cynics in the tech industry even think it might be to do with money and locking you into a product apple style.....i7 960
