Credit check confused

Hi
I have paid off my 0% credit card early november.
I have no other debt.
End of January Im thinking of opening an ISA following Natwests rate drop so i can transfer my deposit savings from 1% to 1.75%.
In april I am looking to get an AIP and then a mortgage shortly after.
As far as I am aware my credit history is spotless, but would like to run a search just to be on the safe side.
Looking at the time line above, when would it best for me to check my record so the paid off cc shows but minimising impact on AIP application as i understand every credit search lowers my score ?
Also for the new ISA i presume they would run a credit check, would this be damaging re mortgage, ie is it wiser to loose out on the rate and stick with Natwest to avoid the credit search and keep my score as high as possible ?
Im an FTB and just trying to figure out what the best thing would be for my rating so any advise would appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and Merry Christmas

Order your credit files from the CRAs directly.
No search is recorded.
No search for an ISA either. Only applications for credit facilities, such as current account overdrafts, HP, credit cards, loans etc show a recorded search.
Unrecorded ID/address searches do not leave a footprint visible to lenders...I am a mortgage broker. Credit reference agencies update their systems once a month, so wait atleast 1 month.0

Have you actually closed the credit card? If so that's probably a bad move! It would have been better to keep using it and settling in full each month in the lead up to the mortgage application, thereby demonstrating good credit account management.0 -
the credit card is still active just not used. i have another credit card im using for everyday purchases and settling every month in full to do prove that im a good payer. I was thinking of closing one of them down as dont need 2, but if its going to affect the mortgage if i close one i could wait until after ive got the house ?Never trust any stats you didn't fudge yourself ;o)
