Hello Techie Peeps :santa2:
Broadband has become snailband in the last few days,so ran a few test and got some interesting results,
Im with BT, and have up to 16 mb but average is 8-12.
with 8 being the guaranteed speed. (obviously not fiber)
BT say im getting 6.75 ave from their test
two other ip tests show 2.2 and 2.8.
so is there anything i can do and if i have to phone BT will they accept the other readings as proof of carp speeds ?
thanks :xmassign:

Remember to do this wired to the router, not over wifi. And make sure nothing else is using the connection whilst you are testing. (e.g. turn wifi off).0

OP Find out how to log on to your router and find its router line statistics. That will tell us a lot about whats going on.

Good point. As I'm on Infinity FTTC I'm not able to get modem stats without hacking the FTTC modem, so I forget about being able to get them on ADSL modems.

The BT speed test as posted and continue after the tests to the diagnostics will give your current IP profile .0

That's what i thought however son in law has sky fibre with a single modem router and you can get the statistics from it just the same way as you can with adsl. He gets 14 mega bits download and 10 megabits uploadGood point. Not with BT Infinity though - the FTTC modems are locked down, and need unlocked firmware applied to free up such features.0

I did wonder why they locked out the router stats for FTTC connections.
