how does sick leave affect redundancy payout

Options
If you have received a redundancy date and payout amount then have to go on the sick during the notice period does it then affect the redundancy pay amount.
I ask this as oh is being made redundant from NPower but has hurt his back and daren,t have any time off incase it reduces his payment to statutory only.

If they pay better than statutory redundancy then it depends on their scheme rules

Have you looked at your employers rules?

If you are working for the public sector or for a major private sector employer I doubt it would make a lot of difference if you have already been given notice of being made redundant but it does depend on the rules laid down.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

    Check the scheme details.

he may be entitled to full pay if within the notice period even if off sick(and not part of the company policy anyway).
