Hi all
I know there is a thread below on the Northern Lights but didn't know the etiquette in adding my query to this thread or starting a new one.
I have now booked flights and accommodation for Iceland, but wanted recommendations for trips. I have been looking at Reykjavik Excursions, and wondered if anyone had booked with them before and had any issues, or if anyone can recommend another company?
Thanks

Reykjavik Exursions is (probably) the largest travel company in Iceland. I've been on a Northern lights trip with them, and it was fine - because they move large numbers of people though, you will tend to be travelling in a large coach. There are a number of other companies that use smaller buses or minibuses, so you are with a smaller group. I've done the Golden Circle and South Coast (Vik) trips with http://www.gatewaytoiceland.is/tours
There is no great variation in prices despite the smaller sized group. I've been to Iceland three times in the last couple of years - the last two trips we've hired a car instead. If you don't mind driving, that can be a better way to see the sites at your own pace. Even driving in Reykjavik the traffic isn't too bad if you avoid rush hour, and outside the city the roads are quiet and it is very difficult to get lost.0 -
Thanks for the reply, I am going with my mum who does not drive, and I personally hate driving, so will have to brave the bus trips.
Will look into the company you suggested0
