I use myfitnesspal on all days and don't go over cals on non-fast days. It's much easier if you are keeping track of things, or even planning ahead so you know what you're having and when

Only takes half an hour to plan the whole week, and the days are interchangeable too :)

Did you allocate yourself a full calorie allowance on non-fast days?

I didn't lose anything much for the first couple of weeks but then it started to come down steadily at around 2 lbs per week. I did do an extra fast day every couple of weeks if it looked like slowing down - i. Cheated a bit by weighing every day to keep a check on how it was going. It's probably worth having another go - after a week or two you should find that you want less to eat on your non fast days.

I was reading an article about this yesterday. The average person drops down to 25% of normal intake on the fast days and compensates a bit on eating days to 110% of normal intake. On 5:2 that averages to 85.6% of normal weekly food intake= losing some weight. If you up it one week to a 4:3 diet the average drops to 73.6% of normal intake=losing a bit more weight.
