I know they say never to cook things on the bottom of the oven, but why? :o
If I ever have to, I just put a baking tray on the bottom then my tray of whatever on top of it
If it's an electric oven, it depends if the heating element is on the bottom; if it is, it'll just burn whatever's placed directly on top of it. If not, or it's gas (as long as there's no air vents or whatever on the bottom), then there shouldn't be a problem.
Even better than a baking tray is a grill rack or wire cooling tray, then the heat can circulate underneath too.

Having a lovely evening on my own for change. Watching an Adele concert on Sky Arts. Popped to Waities with oh earlier and got some fab bargains. 8 packets corned beef, 3 packs low fat Mozarella, 3 Heston Salmon Pate with Earl Grey t, 1 pack nice ham, 2 low fat Vanilla youghort, large tub cottage cheese and the Guardian all for £4.57. As usual they applied the multi buys and they paid me to take away the meats.
DD gone out with her friends for her bday ( which is on Monday). She will be 28 and although she had a crap year last year she seems to have come through it a stronger person. I was a bit against her having a pup but Pickles seems to have done her the world of good and loves her dearly. She is also getting on fab with bf and there is talk of them looking for a house near me and moving in together again.
I seem to have come through the year a stronger person myself. I am 3.5 stone lighter, have boundless energy, walk to the shops every day and don't seem to let my family walk all over me.

Seems not many people on a night out tonight...but then what would I know about such things?:D:rotfl: Quieter than 'normal' Sat. night in Mr A as well, but car park not as empty as I expected. Obviously the post-festive period and the cold weather. I bet the TV ratings are a little higher than normal!

    Xmas Saver!
He is contacting his letting agent .My son is really annoyed as my Dgd keeps getting ill croup at the moment.
was wondering if anyone knew a reason why it looks like you can see the blocks through the plaster?:o

It looks to me like the wall has been plastered straight onto the cinder blocks, they have skimmed them directly, rather than putting plasterboard on the walls and then skimming the board. Is it some kimd of basement or is there a blocked/leaky gutter on that corner on the outside? It could be something as simple as a ball blocking a downpipe.

However, with that much moisture, I would be wary of using that electric socket and would get landlord out asap.

I am TERRIFIED of spiders (have nightmares about them, once cracked a rib throwing myself across the bedroom in an attempt to get away from a spider I was dreaming about )
Sorry, I know I shouldn't, but that did make me :rotfl:

  • possible reasons

1.There is a shower/bath/w machine above this and it leaks
    2. There is a blocked gutter outside or a problem with water running down wall.

    3.Burst pipe somewhere

If there is a flat above they have a leak

If not then the gutter or the roof is leaking

We've got a bad leak in the roof but that is 100 times worse than ours.
  • Its official, I am running away:j

Just signed up to go from whole milk to semi skimmed even though we don't drink whole milk. Sneaky! Some coupons for milk would be wicked.

If you use the 'back' button in your browser you can go back and sign up for more than one 'smart swap' pledge, so hopefully more MOCs:)

I have both of those vouchers - do both scan on ss then- I am due to try:)

The first time I did it, the SA read both vouchers then pointed out a
That one voucher could not be used in conjunction with the other. I mentioned that it worked before. He just scanned them and it was fine. Today I called over an SA and asked for help as I had vouchers and she just scanned them for me and it worked. She said that I could have just scanned them myself which I will do next time:)

  • never too old I am going to bet you a tenner that there is a tiled shower cubicle/over a bath directly above that. It is a pita so solve. I solved it by using laminate shower panels - cost me a fair few bob to solve. Had a man take shower doors out, take tiles off, let dry out and then panels installed with shower doors on after. Not a problem since.

I agree, that is the most likely scenario.
