Thanks everyone - off to see if any reductions in my local town -not holding my breath. Just had coke gammon - lovely -try it with the mustard and treacle topping its lovely and unctuous. Kids had seconds - plenty left for tomorrow and turkey and ham pie too. Bubbs beef waiting in the fridge and the turkey crown - happy days.

Thanks for best wishes re DS he was incredibly lucky. I have since found out that every accident that has ever happened at that school has been at that spot! Yet Council still prevaricating re pedestrian crossing/zebra crossing - still I guess DS has increased the statistics in our favour - so will be getting my battle armour on in the new year to help the school. Thanks for agreeing re ambulance time - 40 mins is a long time to lie on the ground in the cold - but thank god he didn't have a brain injury or blood loss as they didn't know.

Midwinter hope you hear some definite news soon.

Hugs to everyone for your fantastic support and glitches - a life saver for us this year.

    Merry Christmas xxx

  • Hi I'm after some advice.
Have got virgin but was thinking of getting netflix or love film etc to watch some movies over the holidays. Does anyone know of any special offers etc?
My virgin contracts ends in jan so was planning to cancel and use freeview and one of these packages instead.
    Thanks in advance.

Another question, does anyone know the difference between icing sugar and royal icing sugar? Had to get some at b&m but they only had the royal stuff, planning to make a cheesecake.
Royal icing is used to pipe lettering and flowers etc; it sets very hard. You probably wouldn't want to use it to ice a whole cake as it would crack when you cut it.
Icing sugar is more for icing a whole cake.
These links probably explain it better:)

For a cheesecake, I would say use icing sugar.

I have always made Royal Icing for my special cakes. Adding glycerine stops it from setting too hard :)
