Something dairy-based 's a good idea.

You can't survive indefineitly on just one food but if you had to survive for the longest time in the best health on only two foods the best combination is potatoes and milk.

It's why so many subsistence farmers grew it in Ireland at the time of the famine. Unlike grains you could live on it with some milk supplementing it.
