I used our Sc to cook the gammon yesterday morning, just with a half pint of water (plenty of flavour in a gammon), a chunk of brisket then went in after lunch on a bed of onions, carrots, celery and parsnips with a bottle of ale, a good spoon full of mustard powder and a bovril cube.....it's beautiful.
Turkey crown was done in the oven in a lidded roasting dish, didn't baste it at all and it's gorgeous. The turkey bones are now in the SC bubblin away for stock.

Thanks for the update. I did a turkey crown in the oven yesterday - deliciously moist. But I have a second one in the freezer to cook at New Year and I shall certainly try your recipe."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Anyone knowledgeable enough to work out the cost saving for using SC?

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
We did a whole turkey in our SC second year running, I am not a fan of skin anyway and it is so much easier. Large SC so a small turkey just fits ( wrapped the lid with foil for the first 2 hours until the turkey shrinks down enough for the lid to fit.0

I used mine yesterday to do a joint of silverside, as there was no room in the oven and it was gorgeous. Definitely be doing it like that all the time!Every days a School day!0
