As iv said in orevious posts I dont mibd paying iy im not trying to avoid it. However how can I find who th3 debts been sold to so I can pay it back? When the account defaulted iy was in a previous address due to me forgetting to change it. I have since given the bank my new address so if it has been sold on will they now forward my new address to the agents? As I just want to get it payed off and finished with as quickly and painlessly as possible!0

I would get a copy of your credit files.
It would be useful for you to know whether this debt shows on your file and what is showing. It may also tell you who owns the debt now (if the debt has been sold on to a third party debt collection agency then they usually register the entry on your credit file in their name).
By getting a copy of your credit file and linking you new address to your old address it may even result in a letter from a debt collection agency, which you could then arrange to pay.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I already updated my experian account with my new info and that is where my hsbc is showing as a default however there are no accounts from collectors showing up.
I also added my new address on noddle so im assuming that will of updated callcredit?
Will the dca (if there is one) check my credit report to find my new address? I justwant to get it paid off and cleared as im going out my mind with worry over it all now

Sounds like it perhaps never got sold to a third party collector, it would almost certainly have gone through metropolitan first.
Third party agents do often obtain up to date address information from a credit reference agency.
As an aside having this small default doesn't necessarily mean you can't get a mortgage for the next 6 years. If its the only negative and once its paid as it was such a small amount then you should find you can get a mortgage in time (in a few years perhaps).
I would write to the bank to ask how to pay the debt and to ask them to ensure your credit file is marked as satisfied to show the debt has been repaid.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
When I spoke to metraoliton they said it doesnt nornally go to them unless its over 100 pounds. It was only defaulted on the 7th of november so would a dca have already started an accpunt on my credit fole by now?
The collections team wpuldnt let me pay it but could it be the case that now its defaulted if I wrote to thw bank their more likely to let me pay it? As obviously having an unsatisfied default will defdo stop me getting a mortgage!0 -
If they have sold it and I write to hsbc asking if they have, will they tell me who has bought it so I can cobtact them to pay it off? Im just consciese of them having the wrong address at the dca and this going on for years over a stupid 53 quid mistake!0

Also going to drop a few SAEs off at our old house and ask current tenant to forward any mail to us.... that way if anything goes there she can send it on to me

So there is an unsettled default on your report that HSBC are refusing to allow you to pay and get marked as settled? I would make a formal complaint about that alone, saying that their refusal to allow you to settle the account is causing unnecessary and unfair damage to your credit file, and that you will take them to the FOS if they don't allow you to get it marked as settled one way or the other.Still rolling rolling rolling......

This is another thing I was thinking rizla king. Am I right in assuming they have to let me pay it so I can have it marked as settled?0

They would be behaving very unfairly if they do not, and as said would be opening themselves up to a complaint to the FOS. The FOS can order them to do it, and award you redress.Still rolling rolling rolling......
