There should be an info 'plate,/sticker on nearly everything that tells you what each item uses power wise. Granted pulling the cooker out to look is too far, but monitor and computer/laptop all have this info somewhere.
TV too. Or if you have the leaflet things that came with the items, that will have the info too.

I shall try to find these information stickers, I am a complete beginner at this but if we can make a saving it will be worth the research and time spent.

Electric Cooker/Oven probably used for two hours a day. It is about 15 years old too!
Washing Machine on average 1.5 hours a day
Tumble Dryer on average probably 1.5 hours a day
Electric kettle 15 mins a day (two of the five work at home)
    Immersion Heater is not on
Electric Shower on average 1 hour a day

To pick one item an electric shower uses around 8.5Kw, so an hours worth would be 8.5Kwh @ 15p/Kwh thats around £1.25, a months worth of showers then £ 1.25 x 30 = £38.25.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • I would also check for any electric heating, oil filled rads, electric fire etc.

One reason for not moving from a PP meter is who's name does the bill go in?

There are countless threads on here from posters moaning about the bill being in their name etc.

With a PP it's easy put the money in or the lights go out.

The 2 biggies are the tumble drier and shower, probably around £50 per month at your suggested usage rate. Do you have a hot water tank or a combi boiler, I am always surprised at people who have a gas heated tank and an electric shower, a bath tap mounted mixer shower could pay for itself in well under a year.
  • My biggest consumption of electricity per day are my 2 computers, one with 2 monitors, followed by my Sky box then kettle then TV.

Sky box uses more per day than my TV, as it is on 24 hrs a day.

I have a plug in monitor and when I got it I used it to find out what everything used in a day.

3kWh kettle only uses 0.9 kWh a day.

Sky box 1.08 kWh a day

    TV 10 hrs a day .66 kWh

    Computers 2.4 kWh a day.
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

You can take readings from the meter to help get a picture.
    The screens you need are

F - weekly payment (standing charge + any debt repayment)
    H - reading (day reading if e7)
    I - p/kWh price (day price if E7)
    J - night reading if E7
    K - Night p/kWh if E7
    (with key in)
S - any bill on the meter
T - payment towards any bill

As above, heat costs the most.
