I ordered 2 books for Christmas from WHSmiths online on the 10/12/13. One book arrived promptly. The other after sending them 3 emails, was canceled (9 days later).
I rung up about a refunding seeing as all the money had been debited out of my account. They said it was it still in holding and go back into my account a day or two later.
The next day it wasn't in my account so I rung them up again. They said they will debit me back the money (why they didn't do first time round I don't know).
Anyway forward to today, and the money still isn't back in my account.
I'm going to give them another call in a minute. Any tips/help you guys/girls can give me.

Did you cancel the book or did they?
What do their terms say about refunds?
When they said it would be back "a day or two later", why did you think that would mean the following day?
Let's look at the dates (and please correct me if they are wrong):
Ordered 10/12
Cancelled 19/12
2 working days from 19/12 would be 23/12.
So, if it's not in your account by close of business today, then you might have a reason to call them, IF they said it would be in your account within 2 days.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
Would you also confirm that the whole transaction is shown on your statement, not just as a reduction in your available balance? Mail order books are usually far easier to get from amazon or the like.0
