HI all,

new to the forum. I got to a point today where I am going to leave my job, they have screwed me over two many times and now I want to try bring them down a notch or two?

Now I work for a large UK company that sells lots of goods, but I am thinking of creating a website that will give you advice and your rights when purchasing your goods within this shop, what things are vital and why you don't need extra insurance with said product(s) and what are good deals.

I will provide internal numbers, links to products that will do the same job but at a better price.

essentially a tool kit of advice and your rights when buying goods with this company, so that salesman has a nightmare of a time trying to sell you stuff you dont need and your consumer rights.

I know at the moment details are sparse but if the idea sounds good ill spend some time putting it together.

You will have signed a contract with them agreeing not to divulge any sensitive information. You'll regret it.

You seem to be suggesting that one's rights when purchasing from this particular shop are different from when buying somewhere else.

Is that what you are saying, or have I got it wrong?

Providing internal numbers/information could land you in big trouble.

Give an example of what they sell? Small electrical, Large electrical, Health?

Example of one item and why your website will offer vital information over any generic information on buying that said item.

How will you attract visitors? Advertising budget?

Personally, I find this pretty distasteful.

OK, so you don't want to work there anymore.
    Move on.

How would you feel if you were working there and an ex-employee did what you're considering?

I don't like all these warranties and insurances, especially if they're done on a 'hard-sell' basis but it should be down to the individual to say 'no'.

And I've not even gone into the possibility of the trouble it may cause you when your ex-employer finds out what you're doing.
  • First thing I'd be doing is reading up on contract law and defamation law.

Do that, and then decide if what you want to do is still a good idea.

Believe it or not, the right to free speech does not mean that you can say what you want with impunity.

To answer the OPs question, no would not be interest, my shopping rights are well understood and this site would just smack of a disgruntled ex employee, move on to something else with grace

Most people (especially the ones on here) are quite savvy when it comes to checking out good deals. Sour grapes is never a good idea either.

OP should have started a poll. Result would likely be a resounding NO.
