Am I covered by partner's insurance?

My partner has a bank account that offers travel insurance. He insists I am covered by it - and I have read the relevant paperwork. It does look to me like I am also covered by it: we have a joint mortgage and have been in a relationship for several years (but are not married). It also says it covers both partners for independent travel.

I am the paranoid type and am worried despite all this as I am now wondering if I should be named on the policy. Is this normally the case for this type of insurance?

I don't have time to check with the bank as I am travelling tomorrow. Just wondering whether to take out extra insurance to be safe, really. Would rather not as am a bit skint!

I don't think there is a universal answer.

To be named on the insurance you would probably have to be named on the account.

What is the definition of 'You' or 'Insured'?

I would get an answer from the provider, less expensive than having a claim they don't pay out.

This policy specifies that the policy holder and their partner are insured 'when travelling independently'.

My only concern is whether or not I should be named. It's too late to check now so I will probably just have to take out another one in case. Shame I forgot to check this with all the other pre xmas panic

What bank are they with and what account package are they on?

Any of us could go look at the bank's website and check the T&Cs for the travel insurance..
