Anyone elses partner away for Christmas?

Mine gets back a few weeks after. Our first xmas apart in 21 years marriage.

Just having a quiet xmas at home and also working part of it. Will re-celebrate when he gets back. :beer:


What are you doing to get through it?


eta: On the plus side, I can wait for the January sales to buy his main xmas present.

Yes,

I am away for Christmas in the Middle East.

Sometimes there is no choice in being away, though we just have to get through it.

We are going to have a 1-day Christmas Day when i return later in the year. Whilst i am away, it might be 2 days to Christmas, but it does not feel like Christmas.

I'm working offshore this Christmas and New Year, first time I've been away for Christmas since 2009. I'm missing my baby daughter's first Christmas, which is a shame.

Not having a go, but you are lucky, I did 22 in, married for 18 of those, was away of 7 of those 18 and working 12 hour shifts on xmas day for another 5 of those (best was 12 hr days xmas day and boxing day and nights new years eve), doesn't help I know, but it happens.
