Can anyone help, I am trying to put some music from my laptop on to a disc so my dad can play it on his DVD player. When I insert the disc into the DVD it is telling me its blank although it works perfectly on my laptop.

Does the manual for the DVD player say it will play any other formats than a properly-authored DVD-ROM?
In what format is the music? Mp3 files? Something else?0 -
if the disc isnt finalized it wont play in dvd player.

Hi the files are MP3's I believe the disc was finalised, I used Windows Media Player0

You need to burn those to a CD or CD-RW , a DVD doesn't work like that.
Of course that's assuming your dad's DVD player plays CD's ... it should do!0 -

There are DVD+ and DVD- formats , check which your Dad's player will at and what you have used. Also some ayers do not like folders ( older ones). DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Thanks for your replies, yes it has shown photos that i have done for him before and I have got the correct format, it just seems to be the music for some reason, I wondered if it was a different method or if I needed to have special software to do it0
