Probably only on the second hand market, Windows 8.1 is the current standard.
You can make the look and feel of Windows 8.1 very like Windows 7 as standard, by setting it to boot up into the desktop, and matching the desktop wallpaper to that of the Start screen.
You can also put back the W7 start menu by using Classic Start, or further using Classic Shell. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I don't like Windows 8 either. Whoever thought a tablet-designed operating program would be suitable for PCs and laptops needs seeing to! However, the upgrade to Windows 8.1 has improved things, while if you download the Class Shell program, you can basically recreate the Windows 7 browsing experience anyway. The highly irritating "charms" are still there, but you won't have to use them. So, you can still get a Windows 8 laptop at a very good price and make it better!
I know that doesn't answer you query in the way you want, but it is increasingly difficult to find Windows 7 laptops anywhere:(0 -
cheers for the replies,
yep windows 8 is highly frustrating, I havent tried the 8.1 or classic start, might go and have a look at them on the work pc, or in currys.
The only ones I could find were refurb ones with a 3 month warranty

cheers for the link, looking for a wee bit more spec'd one though.
I am particularly looking for asus, as my last 2 laptops have been asus, and I find the build quality very good, and they last me quite well. I have haddell, hp, packard bell etc in the past and they have only lasted around a year before my heavy handedness gets the better of them,0
