Passport for 5 Year Old

When I got my daughter's first passport done, I went to a special photographer who lay her down and took the pictures as I wouldn't have been able to use a normal booth for them.

Now that she's five, will she be able to go in a booth or do I have to go back to the photographer again? I'm not sure if she will be big enough (she's a normal 5 year old size) or if she will sit there and have her pics taken (but then I suppose that's down to whether I think she will or not, not you guys, haha).

Take photos at home and use a company like PhotoBox to print them out.

Our local photographer does passport photos for just a tiny bit more than the photo booths, but of course does it taking into account all the rules etc so they don't get rejected. Excellent value for money.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

if you want to, you can use a booth - i used a booth for my 3-year olds passport photos. You just crank the seat up high so she's in the viewer frame.

A High street photo shop, that sells camera accessories and develops film etc offers them. I had my kids done there, a couple of years ago. Unfortunatley I can't remember the name - it's not the one that went bust though!
  • Thanks for everyone's answers. There is a place near my mums where we got them done when she was a baby. I'll just take her back there as I think she will be scared of the booth.

I would take them myself, but I don't actually own a camera, all my pictures are taken on my iPhone.

  • Costco will do passport photos, using a photographer (or a block with an OK camera in-store) for about £5-7. They'll take as many as you need until it looks right

Snappysnaps also use to do the same thing

Our village post does passport photos - and they offer the Check and Send service too so they automatically make very sure that the photos are within the rules. Very quick, efficient, great value - what's not to like?

If you're going to apply for a passport on-line, do make sure that you use the official website.

There are a number of websites that look official but actually charge you for a 'value-added' service on top of the fee you have to pay to HM Passport Office.

If you Google 'passport renewal' a lot of these sites come up before the official one:

My mum got me a form at the post office, didn't even realise you could do it online.

I'll have to check when it runs out though, it's some time in January I think.
