2! x NFU agents rang me this am (one local branch which is 30 miles away, one at big branch dealing with the situation) both between 10-11am as I'd requested in their online form.

The issue is apparently (as someone suggested on p1) not settling the original claim, but the hire car costs for replacement vehicle whilst 3rd party's was in for repair. That took 10 days & she claimed £2,000 costs!! whereas NFU reckoned £500 which seems far more realistic. NFU therefore disputed it & I totally support them in that, it's this 3rd party's type of outrageous claims which drive premiums up.

Anyway, a NFU agent in Bristol is dedicated to handling this type of thing, v. supportive & sympathetic when he rang, they already have solicitors dealing with the issue and will pass on to them my complaints about Claimfast's scurrilous letter to me. Posting a copy of it 1st class to him will be fine, he should get it on Mon 30th when he's due to go back to work.

I also mentioned to him the comment on here about Claimfast tending to go to litigation even when they know there's no chance - he agreed, but said they do it less now than they used to for small claims like this.
