    If there is nothing in the estate, I do believe there is help to pay for funerals in this sort of case.

    So do inquire with CAB and age concern?

    The help is very limited, but it's still worth the OP checking through the criteria on the link. https://www.gov.uk/funeral-payments/eligibility . Note that any claim has to be made within 3 months of the funeral.

    Stopped policuies may be treated as paid up and maybe worth something, would it be possible to trace them?
