pls cd you recomment a lite ie not bloatware firewall for windows 7 / 8.1? thanks

    Don't know what you would classify as 'Bloatware'.

    Personally I use the free Comodo firewall - without the antivirus part, as I use the free Avast for that.

    Use the green download box(es) on that page to ensure you get the free version.

    Windows 7 and 8.1 have perfectly fine firewalls built-in, so you don't need a third-party firewall. However, if you must, Privatefirewall is light and free ( http://www.privacyware.com/personal_firewall.html ). It's what I use because I'm on XP, and XP's firewall isn't so good.
