Hi all,
Below is a copy of a letter that I sent to a well known bookmakers.
They have replied, basically telling me the bets still on. Apparently my reason for wanting to cancel isn't good enough.
Any thoughts?
Dear Sir or Madam,
A few weeks ago, after a few drinks, I placed a bet on a white Christmas at Leeds (airport) for the sum of £50 at odds of 7/1. It seemed a good idea at the time with potential winnings of £400. I choose your bookmakers due to their good reputation as a fair bookmaker.
I have been monitoring the weather forecasts with interest on a regular basis and now as Jesus's birthday approaches (only 5 days away) the weather forecasts suggest that Christmas day will in fact be reasonably warm and dry.
Obviously I now wish to cancel my bet but can see no way of doing this on your website. Could you please advise me how to do this as I feel the £50 would be better spent on Stella or Vodka.
