ANTIPASTI - Olives, sundried tomatoes, stuffed pepperdew peppers, salami, air dried ham, feta cheese, lovely crusty bread and a bottle of nice wine followed by Gu Chocolate Fondant puddings and some really nice coffee ..... Bingo romantic dinner, almost no cooking, maximum enjoyment!!!0

Antipasti is a good one...
Prepared plates of fruit and something to dip them in (melted chocolate, some zabaglione, a little gently flavoured cream) make a really sensual dessert.
IMO avoid anything too carby......you feel sleepy and heavy afterwards, not terribly romantic0 -
The Delia How to Cheat book is good for dinner dates. Easy to cook, not too many pots and very tasty0

Tesco have the meal deals too or tesco/sainsburys/ asda do nice finest meals just ready for the oven eg lamb shank. A couple of good steaks are also yummy.0

I think bolognese is often an easy romantic meal. If you both like garlic though - otherwise he may be dodging your garlic breath instead of snogging! Homemade bolognese tastes a lot nicer than a jar, and isn't really too complex (and if you have the herbs and bits like garlic etc. to hand it doesn't really require too many ingredients). Slow cooking the mince results in a richer flavour and better texture, so I think the secret to a good bolognese is having it cook in the oven or on the hob for a while - I used to do it in the slow cooker but found that as the liquid didn't simmer off, it resulted in a watery and slightly blander bolognese. I now cook it either in a big wok or a Le Creuset pan on the lowest hob setting, simmering away for several hours to reduce the sauce.0

Chicken parmo and a couple of cans?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

Goats cheese wrapped in Parma ham and cooked in the oven. Takes about two minutes to wrap the cheese, bung it in the oven and serve with salad, jobs done0
