Right, still no further forward.
I have clicked on every view there is and it makes no odds to what the icon/picture looks like, just give me different sizes arranged in a different order. Have downloaded the Microsoft camera thingy and that also hasn't changed anything.
All I'm getting is identical images of a bland landscape type thing (the one showing up as large icons on the tutorial), regardless of what the picture is or the view that I use.
They're also showing up in the preview pane as the icon rather than the photo image.
Any more ideas?
OK, just testing ... you say you downloaded it but did you actually install it either by clicking the Run option on download or Saving the file and then double clicking on the saved file name?
You can check if it's installed by opening Control Panel, selecting Programs and Features and making sure Microsoft Camera Codec Pack is in the list of installed programs.
I can see no logical reason why it worked for me and not for you.
EDIT: Just seen your reply above. Sigh. At least if the Codec has installed you've got all bases covered and you should now be getting thumbnails for just about every type of image format including RAW files ... so not an entire waste of time.... Possibly, if I knew what a RAW file was.
(btw where were you guys an hour ago when I was missing the bleeding obvious!)
And I now no longer have an excuse to be lurking on here instead of working, so I suppose I'd better go and so something useful. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I was busy writing a book about people who miss the bleeding obvious. Actually, I was having a kip with a nice warm cat on my lap. :rotfl:
Oh, and your next assignment, if you choose to accept it (cue Mission Impossible music), is to google RAW.
Working with photos and doesn't know what a RAW file is ... what is the world coming to ... mutter, mutter, grumble, wibble.
