has help to buy 2 started?

i realise that help to buy 2 started earlier this year. Are there buyers that have already gone through the whole process of buying a house using htb2?

the reason i ask is that i read somewhere that you could only make an application prior to Jan 14. Then i read an article that contradicted that saying buyers had already bought.

please note that this is htb2 and not htb1.

Are you referring to Help to buy - Mortgage Guarantee? I believe that they have started taking applications already. Not sure if there have been any completions as yet. I am sure one of the mortgage brokers on here can let you know.

Mortgage Guarantee started in October, with RBS Group and Halifax being the first lenders on board.

It was originally reported that despite the launch, completions could not take place until January 2014, as the lenders would be unable to finalise the guarantee until then. I do not know if anything changed which allowed earlier completions.

Since the launch, HSBC, Aldermore and Virgin Money have launched HTB - MG products.

Is there any useful reason for the question, as I'm struggling to see what purpose this knowledge can be put to?

We are using HTB Mortgage Guarantee with Natwest, and are set to complete early January. However, we could have completed before Christmas.
