Well I have had my Kobo for a few years and never had problems, lots of free books from friends and I have passed them on.
So we bought my mother in law a Kobo touch and I am trying to but books for her to put on it.
Kobo site is so slow, 17 minutes just to sign in and none of the three purchases have gone through!
I have cleared browsing data but this doesn't help.
Their help bit is no good either.
