Vidahost web hosting - Linux only?

I have two domains (.com and .co.uk) registered with 123Reg and am looking for basic (and low cost) web hosting. It's for showcasing and, hopefully, selling artwork. A friend has constructed the website and the only key requirements he's mentioned is the need for it to support Windows + asp.net + databases.
Have seen good reviews for Vidahost and the price for the basic package is an affordable £17 per year. However, when I contacted their sales team, I was told that their web hosting packages only supported Linux and if I want to use windows I have to use their Cloud service for £119.88 per year (£9.99 per mon)!
What I'm confused about it that their webpage makes no reference to Linux (but equally no reference to windows or asp.net),
I would appreciate if their are any Vidahost web hosting users out there who could confirm that they don't support Windows on their basic web hosting.
Many thanks.

They look like standard websites that could be hosted on *nix or Windows boxes. I see nothing on those sites or in the source code to indicate that they are hosted on Windows servers - no dotnet etcI am suprised at this, I use Vidahost hosting, and windows, I have no problems at all and have found them to be very helpful & supportive

I am not paying a premium, one site is hosted free as a charity, the other is reduced as not for profit organisationWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0
